Privacy Statement FORWARD Belgium

FORWARD Belgium (Brouwersvliet 33 - 2000 Antwerp) processes your personal data and does so because you either use or wish to use the services of FORWARD Belgium (receipt of newsletters from FORWARD Belgium and its umbrella organisation Alfaport Voka; participation in congresses/seminars and/or events).

WHICH DATA

FORWARD Belgium collects data that is required to provide you with the best possible service or to comply with legal obligations.

The following data is collected and processed by FORWARD Belgium:

  • FORWARD Belgium members: email address, surname, first name, telephone number, job description;
  • Participation in events: email address, surname, first name, job title.

Processing takes place in accordance with the rules of the new European privacy legislation, the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation).

PURPOSE

Data from our members is collected for the purpose of executing our agreement. Data from participants in our events is collected on the basis of legitimate interest.

FORWARD Belgium requires this information in order to communicate with its members, and to keep them informed of significant changes impacting the sector. Finally, this information is used to respond to the questions you send to FORWARD Belgium.

If you are not yet a member of our association, we will, given your permission, use your details to contact you either by telephone and/or in writing (by email and/or by post).

STORAGE

FORWARD Belgium shall not retain your personal information for any longer than is strictly necessary and/or required by law to fulfil the purpose for which your information is collected. In any case, your data shall not be kept longer than the legally-prescribed periods.

SECURITY

FORWARD Belgium has adequate technical and organisational measures in place to ensure the secure processing of your personal information. These measures shall be appropriate to the nature of the personal data and shall be proportionate to the potential seriousness of the risk and shall serve to prevent any abuse, loss, unauthorised access, unauthorised disclosure or unauthorised modification.

There is minimum risk of accidental or unauthorised destruction, loss, modification or access to and any other unauthorised processing of the data. However, it is impossible to exclude all risks. In the event of unauthorised access to FORWARD Belgium's IT systems, we will immediately take all possible measures to minimise damage to and/or theft of the data. Should the rights of data subjects be infringed, a notification of data leakage shall be made to the data protection authority as well as to the data subjects.

DATA TRANSFER

FORWARD Belgium shall only disclose your personal information to third parties (within or outside the European Union) if this is strictly necessary to implement the Agreement made with you or to comply with a legal obligation. You may object to this at any time.

In the event FORWARD Belgium uses external parties, partners or subcontractors for services, these shall also be obliged to comply with the new regulation. A processor contract shall be agreed to ensure that they take appropriate security measures AND manage how these shall be controlled.

COOKIES

Our website keeps track of general visitor data, including the IP address of your computer and the time of the visit and data sent by your browser. This data is used to improve the operation of the website. We aim to anonymise this data as much as possible.

Should you notice that other cookies are being installed, we thank you for notifying us so that we can take the necessary measures and make the relevant adjustments.

RIGHTS

Unless required by law to retain your details, you shall always have the right to view, modify or delete your personal data. You may send a request to exercise this right to info@forwardbelgium.be. Your request shall be dealt with as soon as possible, but certainly within 4 weeks.

Even if you have given us permission to use your data, this permission may be revoked at any time.

Should you suspect that FORWARD Belgium is not lawfully handling your personal data or is in any way violating laws and regulations, you have the right to file a complaint with the Data Protection Authority.
